6 years on deviant art. . . . I really haven't done much or become particularly better at art. I'm kinda disappointed in myself; I mean, it's only an infrequently pursued hobby for me, but I'd like to get better at it.

Man, I'm trying to draw this concept I have for a DnD character, and it is nooooot going well. I mean, I did an OK rough sketch, it's not fantastic, but it's at the top of my own artistic ability at least. Then I tried to do some quick and dirty painting as practice for when I actually give it a go. It's really confusing, trying to draw a character who has glowing lines of lava/hellfire breaking out across his obsidian skin. I ended up making some pretty good glowing trails coming off of/out of the parts of him that are supposed to glow, but I failed miserably on the skin. I was unfortunate enough to have one of my two HDD's which I was running in RAID 0 (I know, I know, noob move), fail. So now all my data has been lost.
